My Book Trailer

6 paragraphs

December 21, 2010

1)Passage: ”when I came to the back of the building I heard a noise coming from a little room next door. I went up andsaw Idek with a young polish girl half naked on a mattress”(54)

Reaction: I personally think that was wrong for what Idek did because the girl was young and the fact that there were other people there and that you had a job to do and it wasnt the time to do that.

2)Passage: “Faster! Faster! get on with you, lazy swine!” (17)

Reaction: This Statement Bothered me because no one deserved to be called out of their name especially people that is innocent and that did not do anything to receive that type of treatment . Nobody deserves this torture. Just because they weren’t going fast enough they call them names and harass them. which is not fair.

3)Passage: “Poor devil’s yur going to the Crematory” (31)
Reaction: this upset me because they are basically telling them they were going to die.I can imagine how the jews felt because if someone told me i was going to die i would be devastated. They shouldn’t have to be put in that position.

4) Passage: ”work is liberty”(43)

Reaction:I choose this passage because it stood out to me,it stood out to me because it very confusing. But,I started saying this saying in my head over and over again.A couple days later I think I got it.I think it means without work there is no world. Without work there is no freedom. Without work there is no justice. Without there is nothing.

5)Passage: ” Don’t think, don’t stop. Run!”

- This quote made me think that he was a very determined man. Who believes that he can get through anything. A person that just believes. I think this quote stood out to me. I would had said the same thing if I were in his shoes right now. I like the way he presents himself and it was a good quote.

6) Passage: ”An endless road. Letting oneself be pushed by the mob; letting oneself being dragged along by a blind destiny”.(83)

Reaction: This passage discusses me because it makes me think about how many people died during the Holocaust. Sometimes I wish I could just close my eyes and make these things go away.

Reading Guide Questions

December 17, 2010

1. I think the Germans chose to hang few prisoners in public at a time when they are murdering thousands each day in the crematoriums because they wanted them to feel how Jesus felt even though the jews didn’t kill him.
2. Elie and father relationship changed because they were really close in the beginning they were really close and through out the story they drifted apart because they had different opinions and it was every man for himself.
3. It is a significant act because his dad thought he was gonna die and he wanted to pass it on to his son.
4. His experiences affected his faith because he had so many rough times during the Holocaust he didn’t know what to believe and have faith in anymore.
5. To cause a stampede in the wagon he threw a piece of bread in to the wagon. His actions show that he say no sympathy of the jews and he doesn’t care. This shows the prisoners are hungry and will do anything for a piece of bread.
6. The conflict is about how his father was weak and didn’t have any more strength to keep going and Elie wanted his father not to die because he was all he had.
7. Elie’s father died on January 28, 1945. Elie’s emotional state was very depressed and sad because he did not have anyone anymore.
8. That means the look that his father had on his face when he died will never leave him.
9. He kept us from responding because he kept us entertained with the events that were taking place in the story.
10.To me “Night” means the that night that everything changed for good and also how it was the longest night he ever had. If I had to give this book another title it would be ”Where The Freedom Did Not Exist” because all throughout the camps freedom was not even a though to the officers.

Reading Guide Questions

December 14, 2010

1. Elie describes him self by telling his life and experience through out the Holocaust .
2. Moshe the Beadle is a man who always weep when he prays and also a man who tried to warn the jews of the troubles that will surely come.
3. When the town heard his stories the thought he wanted pity and money.
4. I think he begins the story right there with Moshe the Beadle because he wants us the readers to know that someone actually tried to save the jews before the events of the holocaust start taking place.
5. First they gave him simple rules to follow, which they were okay with, then they called their neighborhood the ghetto and laststly they made them move in to a camp and then tourted them and made them give up their freedom
6. His little sister went with his mom and he went with his dad
7.I think they take away their personal items because they probably think they don’t deserve to have anything. They did all that stuff because they wanted to take their whole life away and they thought they didnt deserve anything because they killed jesus. Also they tattooed numbers on them so they could treat them like the prisoners they already was.
8.Is means it seemed way longer then the night really was.
9.So far i feel as though they are getting treated unfairly. Also I feel bad because families were getting split up and they didnt give everyone a chance to live their life. I hate to see how wrong accusations could go so far. Also I feel bad for all of the children that got cremated and never got a chance to experience real life. If i could go back and change time i would try my hardest to put the nazis to a end earlier then the romans did.

Pitch darkness

Every now and then

An explosion in the night

They had orders

To fire on anyone

Who could not keep up

Their fingers

On the triggers

They did not deprive

Themselves of pleasure

If one of us stopped

Even for a second

A sharp shot finished

Of another filthy

Son of a bitch

My personal refection on the film so far is very questionable because i didn’t see the first part of the movie but however i did see the second part . I feel the Jew’s are really being treated unfairly because they are forced to give up there freedom without a question. However I think he has good friends because they helped him even though if they got caught (which is a high risk) they would be killed along with him.

He considers him self as a musician because he knew how to play the piano.

Major Project.

November 22, 2010

For my major project i will be writing a fictional journal. I will complete this project by doing one entry a day so that way i can be creative about each entry , so that way they wont be boring and plain without detail.

What I have learned so far.

November 17, 2010

I learned that they treated the Jews like they were anmials as if they didn’t deserve respect . I also learned that they thought the jews killed jesus so they called them christ killers when it was actually the romans that killed jesus. If I could learn anymore about this topic i would like to know why no other countries wanted to help the jewish people because if i was living back then and i had an opprtunity to help them i would of took it . The most compelling thing to me was how it was only 2 countries willing to take the them in . I always think when your dealing with other people in bad situations and they needed help and other people had different opinions about the way thing should be handeled you should try to put your feet in someone elses shoes. I also want to investigate how they had the heart to kill all those people and burn the babies ? I also want to know why no other country had courage to stand up for the jews even though it might have caused troubled them with war but it would have still been the right thing to do ? Lastly I want to know did the soldiers admit to the party by choice or did hitler force them.

Marigolds

October 31, 2010

I felt this story was unique but a little boring because i lost intrest in the middle of the story. I connected with the text because i know there is always that person that hates when kids touch their property or come near their gardens. I also feel this story was kind of sad when the kids beat her up because i wouldnt want anybody to do that to my mom or my grandmom.

After the Mme. Forestier reveals that the necklace was fake Mme.Loisel was very upset. Also she asked Mme.Forestier to return the difference that the Loisels paid for the real necklace because they were poor and M.Loisels spent the money that his father had left him. Eventually she paid them the difference because she had seen how stressed out Mme.Loisel had gotten just to replace the necklace. The Loisels had now began to live a new life because they were not poor but they certainly weren’t rich, now that the have their money back they are spending it wisely and enjoying life and not worrying about impressing other people. No it is not to late to get her beauty back because she’s still in her early 30′s. She has learned not to stress over things that might effect her life because some stuff is not that serious.
